Located on the banks of the Nagar River in Patisar village, Atrai upazila, Naogaon district, Rabindra Kachari Bari is one of the protected antiquities of Bangladesh. The house associated with the memories of Nobel laureate poet Rabindranath Tagore is about 36 km away from Naogaon town. In 1830, Dwarkanath Tagore, the grandfather of Rabindranath Tagore and a member of the Jorasanko Tagore family, visited this region. Later in 1891, Rabindranath Tagore first came to Patisar to look after the Kaligram Pargana estate. Spanning about 10 acres, the front of the Patisar Kachari Bari features a lion gate, a spacious courtyard, a two-story kachari house, and the ruins of several surrounding buildings. Moving forward through the aesthetic entryway, one notices a concrete bust of Rabindranath Tagore and some inscribed quotes from his works on marble stone in front of the main building. Among the various preserved artifacts inside the Rabindra Kachari Bari are various utensils used by the poet, letters written in his own hand, photographs of the poet at different ages, and furniture. In addition, in front of the kachari house are Rabindra Sarobar, a pond, and the Kaligram Rabindranath Institute.
