সুন্দরবন (Sundarban) একটি প্রাকৃতিক বিস্ময়ের নাম। এটি পৃথিবীর সবচেয়ে বড় ম্যানগ্রোভ বন বা লবণাক্ত বনাঞ্চল। সুন্দরবনের মোট আয়তন প্রায় ১০ হাজার বর্গ কিলোমিটার, যা যৌথভাবে বাংলাদেশ ও ভারতে মধ্যে রয়েছে। সুন্দরবনের বাংলাদেশ অংশের আয়তন ৬,০১৭ বর্গ কিলোমিটার। খুলনা , সাতক্ষীরা , বাগেরহাট , পটুয়াখালি ও বরগুনা জেলার অংশ নিয়েই বাংলাদেশের সুন্দরবন। ১৯৯৭ সালে ইউনেস্কো সুন্দরবনকে বিশ্ব ঐতিহ্যবাহী স্থান হিসেবে স্বীকৃতি প্রদান করে।
Sundarban is a name of a natural wonder. It is the largest mangrove forest or saline forest in the world. The total area of the Sundarbans is about 10,000 square kilometers, which is jointly shared between Bangladesh and India. The Bangladeshi part of the Sundarbans covers an area of 6,017 square kilometers. The Bangladeshi Sundarbans encompass parts of Khulna, Satkhira, Bagerhat, Patuakhali, and Barguna districts. In 1997, UNESCO recognized the Sundarbans as a World Heritage Site.
