Bharater Deul is situated on the bank of the Bhadra River in Bharat Bhaina village under Gourighona Union in Keshabpur Upazila of Jashore District. The mound-like deul has a height of 12.20 meters and a circumference of 266 meters. It is believed that Bharater Deul was built in the 2nd century AD during the ancient Gupta period. The deul was damaged by the earthquake of 1897. On January 10, 1923, this deul was listed as an archaeological site. Excavation works carried out in various phases from 1984 to 2001 revealed the size, stage, temple, and about 94 rooms of the deul. Except for 12 rooms surrounded by 4 wing walls, the remaining 82 rooms are built in the shape of a Buddhist stupa. On both sides of the 4 rooms at the top of the stupa, 8 more small rooms can be seen.
