রংপুরের বদরগঞ্জ উপজেলা শহর থেকে প্রায় ১০ কিলোমিটার পশ্চিমে গোপীনাথপুর ইউনিয়নের লালদীঘি এলাকায় ঐতিহাসিক লালদীঘি নয় গম্বুজ মসজিদ (Laldighi Nine Dome Mosque) অবস্থিত। ভারতীয় উপমহাদেশে থাকাকালীন ব্রিটিশ শাসনামলে এই মসজিদটি আবিষ্কৃত হয়। পরবর্তীতে স্থানীয় বাসীন্দাগণ মসজিদটি পরিষ্কার করে ব্যবহারের উপযোগী করে তোলে। মসজিদের গায়ে কোন শিলালিপি না থাকায় লালদীঘি মসজিদের নির্মাণকাল সম্পর্কে নিশ্চিত কোন তথ্য জানা যায়নি। তবে প্রত্নতাত্ত্বিকদের মতে ব্রিটিশ শাসনামলে এই মসজিদটি নির্মাণ করা হয়েছে। আবার শেষ মোগল যুগের স্থাপত্যশৈলীর সাথে মিল থাকায় অনেকে মনে করেন লালদীঘি মসজিদটি ১২১২ সালে নির্মিত। স্থানীয় মানুষের মধ্যে প্রচলিত আছে, একরাতের মধ্যেই মসজিদ ও মসজিদের পুকুর খনন করা হয়েছে।
The historic Laldighi Nine Dome Mosque is located in the Laldighi area of Gopinathpur Union, about 10 kilometers west of the Badarganj Upazila town in Rangpur. This mosque was discovered during the British rule in the Indian subcontinent. Later, local residents cleaned the mosque and made it usable. Since there is no inscription on the walls of the mosque, no exact information is known about the time of its construction. However, according to archaeologists, this mosque was built during the British period. Again, due to similarities with the architectural style of the late Mughal era, some believe that the Laldighi Mosque was built in 1212. It is a common belief among the local people that the mosque and its pond were excavated in a single night.
