বান্দরবান আর চট্টগ্রাম জেলার ঠিক মাঝামাঝি জায়গায় শান্তভাবে লুকিয়ে আছে এই প্রান্তিক লেক। নামটি শুনলেই বোঝা যায় এটি দু’টি এলাকার প্রান্তে বা সীমারেখায় অবস্থিত, আর সেই থেকেই এর নাম প্রান্তিক লেক। এই লেকের পূর্ব তীর বান্দরবানের দিকে, আর পশ্চিম পাশে পড়ছে চট্টগ্রামের সাতকানিয়া। মজার ব্যাপার হলো, সাতকানিয়ার দিকে একটি ছড়ায় বাঁধ দিয়েই তৈরি করা হয়েছে প্রায় ২৫ একর আয়তনের এই সুন্দর হ্রদটি। প্রান্তিক লেকের চারপাশের দৃশ্যটা আরও মনোরম। প্রায় ৬৫ একরেরও বেশি এলাকা জুড়ে রয়েছে ঘন বনাঞ্চল। চারপাশে পাহাড় আর অরণ্য ঘেরা, মাঝখানে নীলাভ জলাশয়, আর দূর থেকে ভেসে আসা নানা প্রজাতির পাখির কলতান, সব মিলে এখানে সৃষ্টি হয়েছে অপার্থিব এক আবহ।
Prantik Lake quietly hides right between Bandarban and Chattogram districts. As the name suggests, it is located at the border or boundary of the two areas, hence the name Prantik Lake. The eastern bank of this lake is towards Bandarban, and the western side falls in Satkania, Chattogram. Interestingly, this beautiful lake, spanning about 25 acres, was created by damming a stream towards Satkania. The scenery around Prantik Lake is even more charming. There is a dense forest covering an area of over 65 acres. Surrounded by hills and forests, with a bluish body of water in the middle, and the chirping of various species of birds floating in from afar, all of this together creates an ethereal atmosphere here.
