বরিশাল জেলা থেকে ২৪ কিলোমিটার দূরে বানারীপাড়া উপজেলার চাখার ইউনিয়নে শেরে বাংলা এ কে ফজলুল হকের বসতভিটার ২৭ একর জায়গা জুড়ে শেরে বাংলা স্মৃতি জাদুঘর (Sher-e-Bangla Memorial Museum) গড়ে তোলা হয়েছে। স্থানীয়দের কাছে এই জাদুঘরটি চাখার প্রত্নতাত্ত্বিক জাদুঘর হিসেবে পরিচিত। অবিভক্ত বাংলার প্রধান মুখ্যমন্ত্রী ও অবিস্মরণীয় নেতা শেরে বাংলা এ কে ফজলুল হক পিতার মৃত্যুর পর কলকাতা হাইকোর্টে আইন ব্যবসার উদ্দেশ্যে ১৯০১ সালে বরিশাল আগমন করেন। আইন ব্যবসার পাশাপাশি তিনি চাখারের জমিদারিত্বের দেখাশুনা করতেন। ১৯৮৩ সালে সংস্কৃতি বিষয়ক অধিদপ্তরের অধীনে শেরে বাংলা এ কে ফজলুল হকের ইতিহাস ও স্মৃতি নতুন প্রজন্মের কাছে তুলে ধরতে এই জাদুঘর নির্মাণ করা হয়।
Sher-e-Bangla Memorial Museum (Sher-e-Bangla Memorial Museum) has been established across 27 acres of the homestead of Sher-e-Bangla A. K. Fazlul Huq in Chakar Union of Banaripara Upazila, 24 kilometers away from Barishal district. Locally, this museum is known as the Chakar Archaeological Museum. Sher-e-Bangla A. K. Fazlul Huq, the former Chief Minister of undivided Bengal and an unforgettable leader, came to Barishal in 1901 to practice law in the Calcutta High Court after his father’s death. Along with his legal practice, he looked after the estate of Chakar. In 1983, under the Department of Cultural Affairs, this museum was built to showcase the history and memories of Sher-e-Bangla A. K. Fazlul Huq to the new generation.
