Shamser Gazir Bansher Kella Resort has been built near the Indian border in Chhagalnaiya upazila of Feni district, combining various elements of rural Bengali folk culture. Known as the “Tiger of Bhatir” during the reign of Nawab Siraj-ud-Daulah, Shamser Gazi was simultaneously the king of Tripura state, an anti-British revolutionary, and the hero of the peasant rebellion in the Roshnabad pargana of Tripura. Centering around the memorial traces of Shamser Gazi in Sonapur, his descendants constructed this resort with artistic arrangements on about 5 acres of land.
