বরিশাল শহরের প্রাণকেন্দ্রে অবস্থিত এক ঐতিহ্যবাহী জলাশয়ের নাম বিবির পুকুর (Bibir Pukur)। ১৯০৮ খ্রিস্টাব্দে জিন্নাত বিবি জনমানুষের জলের কষ্ট নিরসনের উদ্দেশ্যে এই পুকুর খনন করেন। নগরীর সদর রোডের পূর্ব পাশে অবস্থিত বিবির পুকুরের দৈর্ঘ্য ১৮৫০ ফুট এবং প্রস্থ ৪০০ ফুট। পরবর্তীতে জিন্নাত বিবির নামানুসারে শতবর্ষী পুকুরটি বিবির পুকুর নামে পরিচিত হয়ে উঠে। তৎকালীন সময় কীর্তনখোলা নদীর সাথে খালের মাধ্যমে বিবির পুকুরের দুইটি সংযোগ ছিল। ফলে নদীর মতই এই পুকুরে নিয়মিতভাবে জোয়ার ভাটা দেখা যেত।
Bibir Pukur is a traditional body of water located in the heart of Barishal city. In 1908, Zinnat Bibi excavated this pond to alleviate the water sufferings of the general people. Situated on the east side of Sadar Road in the city, Bibir Pukur is 1,850 feet long and 400 feet wide. Later, named after Zinnat Bibi, the century-old pond became known as Bibir Pukur. At that time, Bibir Pukur had two connections with the Kirtankhola River through canals, resulting in regular tides in this pond just like a river.
