সন্দ্বীপ (Sandwip) বঙ্গোপসাগরের দক্ষিণ-পূর্ব উপকূলে চট্টগ্রাম জেলার মেঘনা নদীর মোহনায় অবস্থিত দ্বীপ উপজেলা। প্রায় ৪ লাখ জনসংখ্যার এই দ্বীপ ৫০ কিলোমিটার দীর্ঘ ও ৫-১৫ কিলোমিটার প্রশস্ত। অবারিত সবুজ মাঠ, নদীর বুকে জেগে উঠা চর কিংবা সহজ সরল মানুষ এক কথায় এই দ্বীপের সবকিছুই ভালো লাগার মত। এছাড়াও দ্বীপে দেখার মত ঐতিহ্যবাহী বিভিন্ন স্থান রয়েছে। সাগর নদী পরিবেষ্টিত এই দ্বীপে ভ্রমণ সারা জীবন মনে রাখার মত। আর শীতের সময় ক্যাম্পিং করার জন্যে সন্দ্বীপের পশ্চিম দিকে (রহমতপুর) নদী পাড় হচ্ছে আদর্শ জায়গা। এখানকার চারপাশ আপনাকে মুগ্ধ করবেই।
Sandwip is an island upazila located at the estuary of the Meghna River in Chattogram District, on the south-eastern coast of the Bay of Bengal. With a population of about 400,000, this island is 50 kilometers long and 5-15 kilometers wide. Vast green fields, newly emerged shoals in the river, or the simple-hearted people—in a word, everything about this island is lovable. There are also various traditional places to see on the island.
