Mathurapur Deul, located in Mathurapur village of Madhukhali upazila in Faridpur district, is a traditional archaeological structure. The monastery stands on the banks of the Chandana river, just two kilometers away from Madhukhali bazar on the Dhaka-Khulna highway. Adorned with beautiful and artistic terracotta craftsmanship, the twelve-sided Mathurapur Deul or monastery is about 80 feet high. The deul has two entrances. Throughout the entire monastery, the use of numerous small terracotta plaques alongside stone slab prints is particularly noticeable. Among these figures are dancing men and women, headless human portraits, Hanuman with a bow and arrow, owls, horses, and more.
