মাদারীপুর জেলার কালকিনি উপজেলার পূর্ব মাইজপাড়া গ্রামে দুই বাংলার প্রখ্যাত কথা সাহিত্যিক সুনীল গঙ্গোপাধ্যায়ের পৈত্রিক বাড়ি (Sunil Gangopadhyay Father’s House) অবস্থিত। বিংশ শতাব্দীর শেষার্ধে আবির্ভূত এই বাঙ্গালী সাহিত্যিক একাধারে কবি, ছোট গল্পকার, সম্পাদক, সাংবাদিক ও কলামিস্ট হিসেবে পরিচিত ছিলেন। লেখকের প্রতি জন্মবার্ষিকীতে তার পৈত্রিকবাড়িতে দুই বাংলার উদ্যোগে বই মেলার পাশাপাশি পাহাড়ি নৃত্য, লালন ও পল্লীগীতির মতো সাংস্কৃতিক অনুষ্ঠানের সমন্বয়ে সুনীল মেলায় আয়োজন করা হয়।
The ancestral home (Sunil Gangopadhyay Father’s House) of Sunil Gangopadhyay, the renowned fiction writer of Bengal, is located in the village of Purba Maizpara under Kalkini Upazila in Madaripur District. Emerging in the latter half of the twentieth century, this Bengali writer was known as a poet, short story writer, editor, journalist, and columnist. On every birth anniversary of the author, the Sunil Mela is organized at his ancestral home through the initiative of both Bengals, featuring a book fair along with cultural programs such as hill dances, Lalon, and folk songs.
