সাগরকন্যা কুয়াকাটার পূর্বে গঙ্গামতী জঙ্গলের দক্ষিণ-পূর্ব কোণে প্রায় ৪০ কিলোমিটার দূরে বঙ্গোপসাগরের বুকে জেগে উঠা মনোমুগ্ধকর এক দ্বীপের নাম চর বিজয় (Chor Bijoy)। ২০১৭ সালের ডিসেম্বর মাসে একদল ভ্রমণ পিপাসু অভিযাত্রিক পটুয়াখালী জেলার এই দ্বীপের সন্ধান লাভ করে। বিজয়ের মাসে আবিষ্কারের কারণে দ্বীপটিকে ‘চর বিজয় বা The Victory Island নাম দেয়া হয়। তবে স্থানীয় জেলেদের কাছে এটি হাইরের চর (মাছ ধরার নির্ধারিত সীমানা) নামেই বেশী পরিচিত। জনবসতিহীন এই দ্বীপের নয়নাভিরাম সৌন্দর্য ও সমুদ্রের বিস্তীর্ণ জলরাশি আগত সকল ভ্রমণকারীদের মুগ্ধ করে। আর তাই এডভেঞ্চারপ্রেমী পর্যটকরা ক্যাম্পিং করার চর বিজয়কে স্থান দিয়েছেন পছন্দের তালিকার শীর্ষে।
Chor Bijoy is a stunning island that has emerged from the Bay of Bengal, located about 40 kilometers to the south-east of the Gangamati forest, east of the Daughter of the Sea, Kuakata. In December 2017, a group of travel-loving explorers discovered this island in the Patuakhali district. Because it was discovered in the month of victory, the island was named “Chor Bijoy” or The Victory Island. However, it is better known among local fishermen as Hairer Chor (designated fishing boundaries). The breathtaking beauty of this uninhabited island and the vast expanse of the sea captivate all visiting travelers. Therefore, adventure-loving tourists have placed Chor Bijoy at the top of their list for camping.
