৩৬০ আউলিয়ার সিলেট নগরী ‘পূন্যভূমি’ হিসাবে খ্যাত। সিলেটের মাটিতে যেসব পীর, দরবেশ শায়িত আছেন এদের মধ্যে হযরত শাহজালাল (রঃ) অন্যতম। আর এজন্য তাঁকে ওলিকুল শিরোমণি বলা হয়। হযরত শাহ জালাল (রঃ) সকল ধর্মের মানুষের কাছে সমাদৃত ছিলেন। প্রতি বছর হযরত শাহজালাল (রঃ) মাজার জিয়ারতে ধর্ম-বর্ণ নির্বিশেষে মানুষের ঢল দেখা করা যায়।
