Sylhet Shahi Eidgah is one of the oldest historical structures in Bangladesh. This exquisitely crafted Shahi Eidgah was built around 1700 by the Mughal Faujdar Farhad Khan. Visitors must ascend 22 steps to enter the main courtyard of the Shahi Eidgah, which is adorned with 15 domes. Surrounded by a boundary wall, the Eidgah has 10 gates of various sizes on its four sides. Approximately 1.5 lakh devotees can perform Eid prayers together in this Eidgah. To the north of the Shahi Eidgah is a mosque known as the Shahi Eidgah Mosque. Next to the mosque, atop a high hillock, stands the forest officer’s bungalow. Devotees perform ablution in the large pond located in front of the Eidgah. Additionally, the Bangladesh Television Sylhet Center is to the south, while the shrine of Shah Mirarji (R.), a companion of Hazrat Shahjalal (R.), and the Sylhet Meteorological Office are located to the east.
