কক্সবাজার জেলার একটি ঐতিহ্যবাহী উপজেলা হচ্ছে রামু। পুরাকীর্তিসমৃদ্ধ রামুতে রয়েছে অনেক প্রাচীন বৌদ্ধ নিদর্শন। রামুতে সর্বমোট ৩৫টি বৌদ্ধ মন্দির ও জাদি রয়েছে। রামুর উত্তর মিঠাছড়ির পাহাড়চূড়ায় রয়েছে গৌতম বুদ্ধের ১০০ ফুট লম্বা সিংহশয্যা মূর্তি। আর মাত্র দুই কিলোমিটার অদূরেই কেন্দ্রীয় সীমাবিহার নতুন করে নির্মিত হয়েছে। কিছুটা দক্ষিণে এগিয়ে গেলেই রয়েছে নজরকাড়া লালচিং ও সাদাচিং বৌদ্ধ বিহার। এছাড়াও আশপাশে ছড়িয়ে–ছিটিয়ে আছে অসংখ্য ছোট-বড় আরো অনেক বৌদ্ধ বিহার।
Ramu is a traditional upazila of Cox’s Bazar district. Rich in antiquities, Ramu has many ancient Buddhist relics. There are a total of 35 Buddhist temples and zadis in Ramu. On the hilltop of Uttar Mithachhari in Ramu, there is a 100-foot-long reclining statue of Gautama Buddha. Just two kilometers away, the Central Seema Bihar has been newly built. Moving a bit further south, there are the eye-catching Lalching and Sadaching Buddhist Viharas. In addition, numerous large and small Buddhist viharas are scattered all around.
