The nine-domed Satoir Mosque, a Sultanate-era structure, is located in Satoir village of Boalmari upazila, 23 kilometers away from Faridpur district headquarters. It is believed that Ala-ud-Din Hussain Shah built this mosque in the 16th century, about 700 years ago during the reign of Sher Shah, as a mark of respect to the Sufi saint Hazrat Shah Sufi Shaief Chhuri (R.) of Satoir village. Within a few years of its construction, the mosque was abandoned and its surroundings became overgrown with jungle. Later, in the early 20th century, the mosque was renovated and rebuilt.
