১৯৭১ সালের মুক্তিযুদ্ধে বাংলাদেশের স্বাধীনতার জন্য নিজের জীবন উৎসর্গকারী এক সাহসী যোদ্ধার নাম মোহাম্মদ মোস্তফা কামাল। তিনি ১৯৪৭ সালের ১৬ ডিসেম্বর ভোলার দৌলতখান উপজেলার পশ্চিম হাজীপুর গ্রামে জন্মগ্রহণ করেন। পিতার চাকুরীর সুবাদে সেনানিবাসে কেটেছে দুঃসাহসী মোস্তফা কামালের শৈশব জীবনের বেশীরভাগ সময়। ২০ বছর বয়সে সেনা সদস্য হওয়ার স্বপ্ন নিয়ে বেড়ে উঠা মোস্তফা কামাল পাকিস্তানের চতুর্থ ইস্ট-বেঙ্গল রেজিমেন্টে যোগদান করেন। ১৯৭১ সালে তিনি ব্রাহ্মণবাড়িয়াতে ইস্ট-বেঙ্গল রেজিমেন্টের হয়ে যুদ্ধে অংশ নেন। যুদ্ধের সময় তাঁকে মৌখিকভাবে ল্যান্স নায়েকের দ্বায়িত্ব দেয়া হয়। মুক্তিযুদ্ধের সময় সমক্ষ যুদ্ধে এই বীর সন্তান পাকিস্তানি হানাদার বাহিনির হাতে শাহাদাৎ বরণ করেন।
Mohammad Mostafa Kamal was a brave warrior who sacrificed his life for the independence of Bangladesh in the 1971 Liberation War. He was born on December 16, 1947, in the village of Paschim Hajipur in Daulatkhan Upazila of Bhola. Due to his father’s job, the adventurous Mostafa Kamal spent most of his childhood in cantonments. Growing up with a dream of becoming a soldier at the age of 20, Mostafa Kamal joined the 4th East Bengal Regiment of Pakistan. In 1971, he participated in the war with the East Bengal Regiment in Brahmanbaria. During the war, he was verbally given the responsibility of Lance Naik. During the Liberation War, this heroic son achieved martyrdom at the hands of the Pakistani occupation forces in direct combat.
