The approximately 530-year-old Budhapara Sree Sree Kalimata Mondir is located in Budhapara, Lalpur Upazila of Natore District. At the time of the temple’s establishment, the subcontinent was under the rule of the Nawabs. During the reign of Nawab Alivardi Khan, the raids by the Maratha Borgis began. To escape the oppression of the Borgis, 60 families of Kansa Banik from Khagra in Berhampore, Murshidabad district, India, came and settled in Budhapara, Natore. At that time, they built a thatched-roof temple for worshiping Goddess Kali, which is now known as Budhapara Kalimandir. Consequently, this temple holds great historical significance for Hindus scattered across the country.
