Located in Rudrapur of Biral Upazila, 2ಯೇ kilometers away from Dinajpur district, Dipshikha School is an unusual educational institution made of mud. The school highlights the heritage and identity of the local people. Children of Rudrapur village had to walk about 7 kilometers to school, as a result of which many students dropped out and got involved in agriculture or other work. In 2002, Anna Herigar along with 10 other students from Leeds University in Australia came to Rudrapur village for research work. Though others returned after the research, Anna Herigar planned to build a school to develop the underdeveloped education system of Rudrapur by utilizing her research and architecture knowledge. To turn her dream into reality, the Modern Education and Training Institute of a German development organization and Dipshikha, a private service organization in Bangladesh, came forward. As a result, the METI Handmade School was built in 2006.
