The Qutub Mosque or Qutub Shah Mosque is located in the heart of Itna Upazila in Kishoreganj District. Since there is no inscription currently on the mosque, its architectural style suggests it is a relic from the Sultanate period of the 16th century, giving the Qutub Shah Mosque significant historical importance. Right beside the mosque is a grave, which is commonly believed to be the grave of Qutub Shah. The Qutub Shah Mosque features four octagonal turrets at its four corners, with a minaret atop each turret. Additionally, the mosque has a total of 5 domes. There are entryways to the mosque on three sides, excluding the western side. The cornice of the mosque is curved, and the walls feature various decorative works. It is renowned as the oldest structure from the Sultanate period in the greater Mymensingh region. In 1909, the Department of Archaeology listed the Qutub Shah Mosque as a protected structure. Along with visiting the Qutub Mosque, your trip will also include exploring the Itna haor.
