বান্দরবান জেলার থানচি উপজেলায় অবস্থিত একটি অসাধারণ জলপ্রপাতের নাম আমিয়াখুম (Amiakum Waterfall)। এটি বাংলাদেশের দুর্গম জায়গাগুলোর মধ্যে অন্যতম। সবুজে মোড়া পাহাড় আর পাথরের বাধা পেরিয়ে দুধসাদা রঙের ফেনা ছড়িয়ে তুমুল বেগে নিচে নেমে আসছে শীতল পানির ধারা। লোকালয় থেকে অনেক দূরে বিশুদ্ধ প্রকৃর মাঝে জলের পতন আর প্রবাহের শব্দতরঙ্গের সুরের মূর্ছনা পর্যটকদের মোহাবিষ্ট করে তোলে। বাংলাদেশ-মিয়ানমার সীমান্ত ঘেঁষা আমিয়াখুম জলপ্রপাত অনেকের কাছে পেয়েছে বাংলার ভূস্বর্গ নামের সুখ্যাতি। ঝর্ণার রূপে মুগ্ধ হয়ে কেউ কেউ আবার একে বাংলাদেশের সবচেয়ে সুন্দর জলপ্রপাত হিসাবে আখ্যায়িত করেছেন।
Amiakhum Waterfall is an extraordinary waterfall located in Thanchi Upazila of Bandarban district. It is one of the most remote places in Bangladesh. Flowing through green hills and rocky obstacles, the cold water stream cascades down with immense force, spreading milky white foam. Far away from human settlement, the melody of the falling water and the sound of its flow amidst pure nature mesmerizes tourists. Close to the Bangladesh-Myanmar border, Amiakhum Waterfall is famed by many as the “Heaven on Earth” of Bengal. Captivated by its beauty, some even call it the most beautiful waterfall in Bangladesh.
