The historic Kokil Peari Palace is located on the banks of the Ichamati River in Kalakopa, Nawabganj, Dhaka district. About 200 years ago in the 19th century, Zamindar Brojen Roy built this house on four acres of land. Along with the name Brojen Roy, he was equally known as Sudarshan Roy. Surrounded by an aesthetic garden, the zamindar house built with bricks, surki, and iron rods featuring exquisite architecture was named ‘Broj Niketan’. Over time, the ownership of the Kokil Peari Zamindar House passed first to an oil merchant and later to a judge. Consequently, the names ‘Telibari’ and ‘Jajbari’ became associated with the history of the zamindar house.
