Bajra Shahi Mosque is a historic mosque built in Bajra Union of Sonaimuri Upazila in Noakhali District. The mosque was built following the architectural design of the Shahi Jama Masjid in Delhi. According to historical records, in 1741-42, Zamindar Amanullah excavated a large pond on 30 acres of land and built an attractive mosque on the western bank of the pond. Featuring a beautiful entrance gateway, the Bajra Shahi Mosque is about 116 feet long, about 74 feet wide, and about 20 feet high. The foundation of this three-domed mosque was built from about 20 feet below the ground level. All three domes are adorned with beautiful marble stones. There are 3 arched doorways for entering the interior of the mosque and 3 ornamented mihrabs facing the qibla. Several more domes can be seen above the entrance gateway of the mosque. The traditional Bajra Shahi Mosque was first renovated in 1909, about 177 years after its construction.
