বরিশালের সাগরকন্যা খ্যাত জেলা পটুয়াখালীর রাঙ্গাবালী উপজেলায় বঙ্গোপসাগরের একেবারে কোল ঘেঁষে জেগে ওঠে দ্বীপ চর হেয়ার। স্থানীয়দের কাছে এটি দীর্ঘদিন ধরে কলাগাছিয়ার চর (Kalagachia Char) নামে পরিচিত থাকলেও বর্তমানে পর্যটকদের কাছে চর হেয়ার (Char Hare) নামেই বেশি পরিচিত হয়ে উঠছে। চারপাশে অবারিত জলরাশি, দূরদিগন্তজোড়া আকাশ, অতিথি পাখির কোলাহল আর সবুজ ম্যানগ্রোভ বন সব মিলিয়ে চর হেয়ার যেন প্রকৃতির হাতে আঁকা এক নীরব শিল্পকর্ম। এই চরের পূর্ব পাশে রয়েছে বন বিভাগের সংরক্ষিত বনভূমি সোনারচর , পশ্চিমে চর তুফানিয়া, উত্তরে টাইগারদ্বীপ আর এর পাশেই চর কাশেম। কুয়াকাটা থেকে সাগরপথে এর দূরত্ব ৩৫.১৯ কিলোমিটার, আর রাঙ্গাবালী উপজেলা থেকে মাত্র ১০ কিলোমিটার।
Char Hare is an island that has emerged right against the Bay of Bengal in Rangabali upazila of Patuakhali district, famously known as the daughter of the sea in Barishal. Although it has long been known to locals as Kalagachia Char, it is now becoming increasingly popular among tourists as Char Hare. Surrounded by boundless waters, a distant horizon, the chatter of migratory birds, and green mangrove forests, Char Hare is like a silent work of art painted by nature. To the east of this char is the Sonarchar reserved forest of the forest department, to the west is Char Tufania, to the north is Tiger Island, and right beside it is Char Kashem. Its distance from Kuakata by sea route is 35.19 kilometers, and it is only 10 kilometers from Rangabali upazila.
