Located just 3 km from Bagerhat town and to the south of the shrine of Hazrat Khan Jahan (R), Khanjeli Dighi (also known as Khan Jahan Ali Dighi) covers an area of 200 bighas. There are different opinions regarding the naming of the dighi. According to many, it was named “Thakur Dighi” due to the recovery of a Buddhist idol. Others believe that the local Hindus revered Khan Jahan as Thakur, and this dighi was excavated under his supervision.
