Bongo Sonahat Bridge is a historic bridge located over the Dudkumar River in Bongo Sonahat Union of Bhurungamari Upazila in Kurigram District. As part of establishing a railway to facilitate the transport of British troops and supplies from Lalmonirhat, Bangladesh to Manipur state in India, the approximately 1,200-foot-long Bongo Sonahat Railway Bridge was built over the Dudkumar River in Bhurungamari in 1887. During the Liberation War of 1971, freedom fighters blew up a section of this bridge to disrupt the communication of the Pakistani army. After the war, the bridge was repaired and began to be used as a regular bridge.
