The traditional Komola Ranir Dighi is located near the Birishiri Union Parishad, three kilometres away from the Durgapur Upazila headquarters. It is also well-known to many as Sagar Dighi. According to tradition, in the late 15th century, King Janki Nath of Susang Durgapur married a beautiful woman named Komola Devi. A son was born to the pro-people King Janki Nath. The child was named Raghunath. To alleviate the water scarcity of the subjects, King Janki Nath excavated a pond. However, when water did not rise in the pond, the king grew worried.
